Of all the greatness he achieved in his life, David was nothing until God dealt with him through Nathan the prophet. David's wretchedness was revealed to him, and he was humbled to the point of despair.
God reached down and "killed" him and he raised him from the "dead".
He was given a fresh start. He was born-again. This happened to me when I was 35. God revealed to me how wretched I was, and I knew He alone had what I needed: A new start. I can say I got that, and soon I was found worthy of the enemy's testing. On March 27th 1987, the alarm went off. I got up, but couldn't seem to wake up. I couldn't distinguish between what was real, and what was a dream. In my dream, I saw the end of the world happening as real as though it were a movie. A problem developed, however, when I saw myself as the hero of it all. I had the power to discern who was lost, and who was already redeemed. My eyes were like a spiritual machine gun, as I began to spot the lost.
I was taken to a psychiatric ward that morning. Four years in and out of the state hospital, and much prayer from family and friends later, I was finally convinced to quit pestering people about their eternal destiny. These songs evolved out of that experience. Thanks to all of you who lovingly and patiently helped me get my focus back on reality.

In loving memory of Jeremiah David Barnett whose life and death has affected us all. Who would do anything to make us laugh, who couldn't stand to see us cry. A fellow poet and songwriter, who was taken out by one man's senseless decision to drink and drive. We are dedicated to exposing this liar called alcohol.
